La Truite is a Lebanese family business that was established in 1964 and specializes in salmonid aquaculture. It is located along the Assi River and has 15 ponds that are used to raise rainbow trout. In 2009, a new hybrid called the silver steelhead salmon was introduced, which is a mixture of Atlantic salmon and steelhead trout, and is considered to have better quality. The company produces around 250 tons of salmon each year and sells its products in the Lebanese, Arab, and Gulf markets. La Truite follows advanced techniques in salmon rearing and adheres to HACCP standards in treating and packaging its final products for consumer satisfaction. The company offers salmon in various sizes, ranging from 300 grams to 3,000 grams, and is looking to produce 52 end-user products from the fish.
